Her 2013
Watched it for the first time a few years ago and went back to it recently. I realized I had very few memories of it and it’s even better than I remembered it was. I really enjoyed how different subjects are tackled. I’d say the loneliness of Theodore hit different, what I got was a very lonely feeling throughout the whole film and it felt relatable. A MAsterpiece. Period. Octavia Spencer MASTERED that type of character in this piece of work that I might call, and excuse my French, an « oeuvre d’art ». The movie itself is great, with a first part that sets a weird, uneasy atmosphere, which gets more and more uncomfortable, crescendo. Until it blows up. Amazing. The second part is wild and literally feels like a psychological thriller. Well done. Octavia Spencer period.
