The Brutalist 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The first half of the movie is flawless, but it doesn't maintain its brilliance in the second half. Storylines lack cohesion and the message of the movie is unclear. The score and acting is stellar and I had to remind myself I was watching actors and not actual people, except Erszebet, who was reduced to an annoying plot device.
The cinematography also shines - it looks stunning and so well composed and timeless.
Shame it couldn't maintain its brilliance. Still a very ambitious and respectable movie. Go watch it.
