This movie is so stylish and the vibes are immaculate. There were moments where I felt such unease as well, which was interesting. You wait for something amazing or awful to happen, and then it just…doesn’t. That’s life sometimes.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This was a great remake. The visuals were outstanding, and everyone acted beautifully. I also liked how they fleshed out the lore and characters more as well.
The mustache was…a choice.
A couple things I wish they had kept:
- the scene where Nossy is just standing in the doorway in his castle when he first approaches Hutter in his bed
- the scene of Ellen sleepwalking on the balconyOther than that, it was so visceral and creepy. Loved it.

This is one of the most depressing movies I’ve ever seen. The last 10 minutes or so where you’re following a character’s daughter around felt drawn out, but I would argue that the rest is a necessary watch to understand the devastation and effects of nuclear war on a society.

I’ve only watched this once before which was when it came out. 20+ years later, and there are still aspects of it that stuck with me, such as Leila’s striking character design.
