    Fooking magnificent!

Involves 13 year old boys, so yeah this was gonna trigger me anyways. And aside from a few moments in the second episode, the oner gimmick is perfectly in service to the drama. And that says a lot about how great the writing is!

I wonder what the director is doing next?

    Rekhachithram

    ★★★

Aggressively mediocre mostly, the present-day antagonists are terribly written while every single attempt at "mass" falls flat.

But the emotional core works. Director Jofin has an inventive premise, captivating protagonists and a poignant metatextual layer at hand (and I REALLY appreciate how Rekha's story is structured. Bit of a stretch, but it did remind me of Gaspar Noe's Irreversible). But he's too timid of a filmmaker to venture beyond the broad strokes.

    Rewatch Takeaways:

    1. Finally realised how clever the placing of Kochi, one of the most polluted places in Kerala, as the clean freak protagonist's home town was.
    2. The final 30 minute stretch is an all-timer.
    3. The endgame of their journey was evident right from the start for all the three characters. The ignorance was the coping mechanism, which shatters once Nedumudi Venu literally breaks down in the auto journey back home.
    4. That auto guy from the railway station was Khalid Rahman, right? Noticed he was the film's AD as well.
    5. Oru solo trip adikkenda samayam adhikramichirikkunnu.
