  I read somewhere that mother doesn’t make any sense if you go into the movie not knowing anything about it—I disagree. I think mother is one of those rare movies where everything that happens truly can mean something different to everyone, and I certainly had my own ideas as to what it all meant while watching it.

  Journalism is perverse.

  At least this kind of journalism is. I think what this movie does is show how wrong it is to actually do these sorts of things.

  There are people who watch and people who do, and this movie shows how wrong it is to just watch—to just stand by and let the atrocities of the world happen right in front of you. 

  Why do people do it? I understand for most of us it’s cowardice, but why…
