Start seemed like it would be a predictable plot, almost like a Thai version of Dear Evan Hansen, but then moved in unexpected directions to explore closeness, memory in the face of new information, and friendship. The movie felt satisfying from start to finish and achieved a balance of lightness and melodrama in just the right quantities. An impressive directorial debut.
