That was good! I didn’t know what to expect going into this movie, but that was not it. Paul Bettany’s cheeks should have won an Oscar. I’m sure the score for this movie went so hard in 2001, I still enjoyed it in 2025. It had a great mix of fun and heart, honestly made me tear up. The scene where he sees his Dad again is cinema 🙌. Heath Ledger can be a gay cowboy, a criminal physcopath anarchist, and a knight of the female gaze. Feel good movie of the year circa 2001

I loved it. Definitely was awkward watching it with my mom… cause boobs. Like, lots of boobs (spoilers lol sorry, there’s boobs). But she loved it too so idk. Very well balanced blend of powerful messaging, lighthearted moments that didn’t feel like poor times marvel movie gags, and stellar acting across the board. Idk if it deserved best picture, because I’m a Dune 2 fanboy, but I was not mad at all to know it beat out the rest of the nominations.
