  Here is design to pull at its viewers heartstrings but somehow misses most of its emotional marks in my opinion. Maybe it’s due to difficulty I had connecting with the characters despite the fact that we are quite literally cemented in their living room over the span of many years. I understand that they were going for a fly on the wall perspective but the fixed angle is rather restraining for the sentimental heart of the movie.

  I understand that they were making fun of the typical Hallmark Christmas movie format, but in order for that joke to land, it should’ve been much more over the top than it was. Instead it fell right in with the type of movies it was attempting to satirizing
