for a biopic, this movie kinda snuck up on me bc i rlly enjoyed it. i thought timmy did a great job from beginning to end and so did monica b. loved all the music and the end did make me tear up ngl. will have blowin’ in the wind stuck in my head for days.

i knew going into the film that i would enjoy it because of the watercolor and sketch animation, and it rlly was very beautiful, but i didn’t think this adaptation of a folktale would be so heart wrenching. i felt my heart breaking over and over again for the princess and for 2.5 hours i was so moved i wanted to cry. i think this may take the top spot on my studio ghibli list it was that good. i think everyone needs to watch this at least once in their lives and i’m serious.
