There is something in the water; couldn't find it though. It's not a good film that's sure. The idea isn't new. Watched for intrigue rather than interest.

The Creator 2023
I've changed my opinion; this is actually much much better than I thought first time round, and my view then was pretty decent. It has structure, a story that really does work, a look and feel that is so instantly believable and a balance of pace, action and sentiment on so many levels. No surprise that Gareth Edwards delivers, considering Rogue One was such a momental addition to the Star Wars timeline. Absorbing, thrilling and one to rewatch again and again.

Longlegs 2024
Not quite sure what to make of this; exceptional cinematography, great immersive sound and a standout performance by Nic Cage don't make up for the thin story and disappointing, predictable, ending. I think I expected more; a punch in the face at the end rather than shrug of shoulders. Worth a watch though, in the dark with decent audio.

An interesting exploration into the story leading up to the birth of Damian but not sure that some of the depiction of the dark forces, eluded to in the original, are really necessary but nonetheless it works without being groundbreaking.
