Fantastic film holy shit. Between the visceral firefights and the meticulously crafted character relationships, Michael Mann manages to put together a vintage crime drama. I'm a sucker for heist films, but Robert De Niro and Al Pacino's legendary performances absolutely set a new bar for me.
I wish the meeting between McCauley and Hanna occurred closer to the climax, because their building contention and rivalry could have culminated in a more fleshed out clash. Hanna was a little too eager to confront McCauley, and it felt out of character.

I watched a few other Westerns that I figured Red Dead pulled some inspiration from, but this movie appears to be by far the primary influence. From the clothing, to the guns, to the characters, the game creators were very clearly in love with this movie--and for good reason.
Ben Wade is such a classic Russell Crowe character. I wish Crowe's career didn't go down the drain cause I really enjoy his movies. Master and Commander, Gladiator, and A Beautiful…
