I have never enjoyed the Scorsese “narration ‘n needle drops” approach to mob films as much as everyone else in the entire freaking world but credit where it’s due on Goodfellas. Some really incredible shots. I much preferred The Irishman to this and Casino.

Mulholland Drive 2001
Lynch’s Sunset Boulevard is a good movie, but he is at his best when he is telling one story, and in his post Blue Velvet/Twin Peaks era he seems like he can’t help but do at least 3. He clearly knows Betty and Rita are the heart of this picture, which sets this above Lost Highway, and Watts’ and Haring’s wide eyed energetic performances cure the too-cool virus that infected Bill Pullman, Patricia Arquette and (checks notes) Balthazar Getty. But…
