  It was one hundred percent worth making the trip down to Esher to catch this. It made me really regret not seeing it on the West End but c'est la vie. I got chills at so many moments from the basket scene to Moses' Lament after the final plague. Really superb stuff there.

  Massively mixed bag here.

  Starting with the positives, the production and animation are the absolute highlight. The sheer scale evoked through the sets make this subterranean world feel so expansive and lived in. There's also a perfect balance of those aspects of worldbuilding which are explicitly explained and those which are left to the imagination as our protagonist discovers this world and its inhabitants. There's no shortage of horrifying and original ideas either; the mashroom harvesting is a particular gruesome…
