Day of the Dead 1985
Day of the Dead is the third installment of George Romero’s original Dead trilogy, after Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, and is maybe the most upsetting and hard to watch, due in no small part to the absolutely incredible practical effects. But keeping with the other films, the characters and social commentary are definitely what makes this so engaging. The constantly escalating arguments and standoffs between the group of soldiers and the scientists they’re supposed to be protecting are tense as all hell.
