Smile 2 2024
Loud as fuck Possession, love conveniently replaced by mental strain. There’s plenty to nitpick—it’s a 2024 film after all—but I had a lot of fun, and unlike so much of the utterly disposable trash that clogs modern cinema, this actually feels like it belongs to 2024.

Decalogue VI 1989
I eagerly recommend watching the film instead. By changing the ending, Kieslowski focuses more on the short-lived nature of love than on the enchanting idea that it could exist at all. This is rather anti-climatic.

Soft Liquid Center 2023
A largely improvised film, made by pretty much just three people from a one-page outline on a virtually non-existent budget, so let's not ask for the world. His Motorbike, Her Island 1986
Trascendental biker flick mixing Godard, Buñuel and commercial cinematography (motorbike commercial, obviously). Deeply expressive, evocative, FREE cinema. Obayashi makes it look easy, this love... polygon of dreams, memories, freedom, youth and culture. He captures a moment in time, and in life, as only cinema can, with pure movement. Just when I thought it might be losing steam (at least compared to a riveting first half), he comes up with that ending. Genius.
