amazing performances but absolutely fucking pointless. this movie brings nothing to the table aside from shitty misogynistic fantasy, pseudo-intellectual bullshit, and greatly underdeveloped female characters portrayed as utterly dependent and made out to be nothing but fodder for the male characters to exercise their misogyny. any attempt at reconciliation of the conflict has no real effect. even for the bleak, nihilistic film this is supposed to turn out as, it sucks.
