the main character literally being trapped in a box facing the oppressive nature of his surroundings and events happening around him, the art style was quite unique, as i take a deep dive into these Hungarian short films presented by mubi i find that their abstract and almost psychedelic animation styles are quite surreal, most of them also seem to be some sort of political black comedy commentary.

Mala Noche 1986
One of the best looking black & white shot on film movies I’ve ever seen, the heavy contrasts and grain play into the style and atmosphere so well, it peaks my interest on how it was conceived, I take this as a form of visual inspiration undoubtably.
~ Before i knew it was Gus’s first of many films shot in Oregon i noticed the Waterfall from my trip last summer & had made the assumption before the conformation, very cool.
