  suspenseful and entertaining, but comes across somewhat ignorant as it beats around the political complexities of the situation. it seems like affleck wants to make a point or recognise some of the hypocrisy of american foreign policy, but looses it in the second half as the story becomes more intense and the film wraps up. 

  so it feels like you’ve just watched another spoofy cia propaganda movie and not a best picture winner. but thus it clearly has the awkwardly mild political takes that the academy love.
