well-meaning but just incredibly odd. Will need time to process any of that. I love musicals generally but that was something else. I am left mostly confused and somewhat entertained. The girl who plays Emma was just always so smiley and wide eyed... god bless her heart lmao

I only really watched this for Josh Hartnett because Im mixed feels about M. Night Shamyalan films. Loved him doing horror like this, hope he does more of this. Nice to see him come back to acting. Was not expecting him to be shirtless? Some of his overly enthusiastic Dad dialogue was confusing, like he knows his daughter is a teen right? not 5 years old?. Was not aware his daughter was the singer for this film lol Third Act was quite long and I for some reason assumed the entire movie was going to take place in the stadium.

Had high hopes for this but unfortunately some parts were like ok I get it inside-community jokes which is understandable if you want to appease to the Filipino-American community but aside from those, some were just like... not that... good? This felt like Jo Koy's attempt to make a movie out his standup content making fun of Filipinos that didnt quite execute well.
