fr this movie was so damn good I’m craving and itching to watch it again. couldn’t help but feel like how ppl in the 70s must have felt when they watched star wars for the first time. i’ve never seen star wars but I think it’s a fair guess
didn’t resonate w Lola’s comedy in the beginning—it felt like she was trying too hard. but as the movie went on I really enjoyed it. love when female led movies are ludicrously horny. so many attractive people in the cast like wow; deadeye, the jesus freak fiancé, asian bae (andrew) from insecure, the australian bball player, daniel dae kim, etc. honestly I’m gonna bump it up to a 4 star from 3.5 bc of all the hot ppl. the movie had its emotional moments and near the end I was fully sobbing. would recommend!
omg what a cute movie. at first I was thinking, wow you could not PAY me to be a middle school girl again. but then at certain moments I felt nostalgic for the sweetness of girlhood and burgeoning adolescence. love how her worst nightmare was moving to new jersey (I thought they were in bergen county at first but I think probably essex county). rachel mcadams is so mommy omg. I kinda wish margaret defied the odds and found islam…
this has been my favorite movie my entire life. I used to rent it from blockbuster regularly as young as 3 years old. it was both a spiritual and a sexual awakening for me as a child. I don’t believe in god anymore but still am bewildered by why they made Moses & his wife so sexy. amazing soundtrack, beautiful animation, characters aren’t white washed (well the voice actors are mostly white but that’s besides the point), god isn’t depicted as some anthropomorphized daddy. I have to watch it at least once a year. now I’m itching to watch it again as I write this.
