An enjoyable dark humor sci-fi satirical film that explores social and political commentary of corporate exploitation, class consciousness, systemic oppression and other societal critiques. There are also themes of belonging when Mickey goes from dehumanization to rehumanization and realizing that life is not disposable. I appreciate the elements that make you question, “What makes someone human?” This is a well made film with a good message. However, I don’t think it’s a film for everyone. Luckily, I am the target audience for this film.

Emilia Pérez 2024
This film is… something! 2024 was a year of sequels, prequels, remakes. So, after watching this film, I appreciated the attempt of originality by blending a crime drama and a musical. But this film unfortunately had messy execution and it didn’t feel appropriate. Did this have to be a musical? This film had potential being thought-provoking, but instead focused on being artsy-fartsy. Zoe Saldana did a good job though.
