When I saw Char was on the “characters to know” list, I expected 5 minutes of flashback tops. The team that did this are clearly fans of Gundam and had so much fun with the 1st third of this and it shows. The actual show and tonal shift after is quite fun and jarring in a good way. If the rest of the series is anywhere as good as this I’ll be happy.

Just music and wonderful art in combination that cannot be beat. Every album should have something like this.
I rewatched this in theaters for it’s “remaster”, it was just horrible AI upscaling that turned beautiful pieces of art into a smudged mess. Please watch the original.

Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space 1982
I waited till watching all 3 movies in theaters before rating them all. Gundam III did not disappoint. Unlike the first film I understood why it lingers on the battles that it does and you can feel it in the character drama. I very much enjoyed the ending and walked out overall understanding and appreciating Gundam’s roots more than ever. I even cried a bit at the end, and was sad my time with White Base was over.
