We Won't Grow Old Together 1972
Sort of like a linear, bizarro French version of Annie Hall but without any comic relief and more brutal. Two people who shouldn’t be together circling the end of their relationship. Well developed characters but it really keeps you at arms-length.

I'm Still Here 2024
idk if I’m crazy, or if it was the headache, but it felt like something was missing from this. The first third is absolutely amazing and paints a beautiful and joyous image of this family. But these characters and relationships slowly hollow out as the film goes on. And I guess that might be the point, but I wanted to see these characters process the emotional whiplash of the first half and we never really get to see that. Good movie and acting, but I’m confused as to why they chose to write the script like that
