Powerful movie. I know I sound like a typical ethnocentric American but definitely fascinating to think about this movie in the context of what was going on in the USA at the time. Great music, great performances especially from Diop and Jelinek. I loved the symbology of the mask. What a devastating, brutal ending

Notting Hill 1999
Rhys Ifans, playing spike is the MVP of this movie and is outrageously funny in every scene. All of the actors are great but this still feels like pretty conventional rom-com and is a touch overrated IMO

Maybe I'm too much a lib these days but it's still funny to me that the Williams sisters are two of the greatest tennis players to ever live and we make a movie about their dad. That being said, he does prove to be a bit of a flawed character.
Little bit cheesy at times but I'm a sucker for a good underdog story so I still enjoyed it
