I think this movie was amazingly made even for today's standards, the cinematography is way ahead of it's time and so was the message. While warfare was perhaps more normalized at the time, it's still glorified till this day, and I find it very interesting how war movies tend to tell war hero stories while not necessarily telling the suffering soldiers go through, but this film really managed to catch my attention not only because of it's portrait of warfare…

Honestly, this movie did things to me — which I think it was exactly what it was made for, but it not only brought out the sexual side of the characters but I think it does a really good job on how they're explored. The direction never fails to get your attention in what's happening on screen, and the whole thing with the color scheme (mainly purple and red) really helps on understanding the characters.
But anyways, I'm not gonna go deeper into my thoughts because it's late at night right now and I'm tired af but HOLY SHIT I LOVED THIS.
