Did I really love this film, or did I just previously give it a five star rating because I saw it in theaters? Wanting to confirm things, I decided to rewatch this. Guess what? It still rocks. All three leads are on point, but I paid more attention to Dar-Benn this time, and she’s a villain with some heavy reasoning.
Also, the Cats scene is still comedy gold.

  • Gamera vs. Jiger

    Gamera vs. Jiger

Gamera gets impregnated by a parasite from Jiger, a creature that was imprisoned thanks to something called the Devil’s Whistle.
Me personally, I wouldn’t have removed something with a title like that. Especially when a big flying turtle tries to stop you from doing so. But I guess I’m the weird one.

Jiger is a decent monster, just with a bland look. I think that’s part of why Gamera never got quite the same level of popularity as Godzilla. Most of his villains just don’t have the same coolness. Still, Gamera is a legend, and I’m enjoying my watch through of these.

    WOW.
    Just. Wow.

I got to see this in theaters at Screenland (on theater one!) thanks to Friday Night Frights, and it was the best way to view it for the first time. I even got Kelee to come with, and she enjoyed it too (even if she was falling asleep).
I knew the premise, but didn’t expect to be so affected by this film. I legit cried at the end, and that’s not very common for me during films.…

Turns out I can add my own wedding video to Letterboxd. It’s basically a documentary. Hopefully this will be my first film of many to be added.
Also, Kelee looks so gorgeous in her dress, and not to brag, but I look pretty cool in my suit.
