As someone who likes metafiction but loves sincere metafiction, I can appreciate the depth of emotion in this movie. Not only did I feel I was a part of the movie as it was being made before my eyes, I felt connected to what the main character/director had to say and how she said it. I can't help but imagine Kaufman directing this as the character Bob Brooker from Mulholland Drive going like "It's not a contest... the two of them... with themselves... So don't play it for real until it gets real."
