Beau Is Afraid 2023
This film for all it's ambition and commitment to tone and surrealist humour was never going to end satisfactorily. An excercise in style for sure but a pretty damn good one that certainly held my attention for 3hrs. I was never bored. Baffled, bemused yes but never bored by it's sheer willingness and ambition to put something different in front of us. I also enjoyed Joaquin's performance and that of the support around him. Something to perhaps enjoy once and leave it at that.

Im not disgusted by much but DeVito's Penguin was a horrible little bastard. I never ever want to hear about his "French flipper technique" again.
