Wong Kar Wei's distinct style emerges in his second film of 60s Hong Kong; atmospheric, nostalgic, and exquisitely filmed.
Superb cast with a mysterious character played by Tony Leung appears briefly at the end of the film. It's not clear how the character is connected to the storyline except that in hindsight it foreshadows Tony's character in "In The Mood For Love" and "2046" that followed 10 plus years later. One may consider "Days of Being Wild" as Part One of the "In the Mood For Love" trilogy.
Nice sequel, but not as compelling as the previous films.
Wong Kar-Wai's achingly beautiful, nostalgic, atmospheric masterpiece. Great chemistry between Tony Leung and impeccably dressed Maggie Cheung, Simmering undercurrent of emotion is convey via glances, minimalist dialogue and long takes. The cinematography and soundtrack combine to form an immersive experience of 60s Hong Kong.
