  Kind of a banger, to be honest.

  This is a fun, somewhat corny TV special that takes Lovecraft's The Shadow Over Innsmouth and its classic New England setting to a little japanese harbor town, and it does so with a surprising amount of craft and care, which shouldn't be shocking since this is directed by the man that wrote Serial Experiments Lain, which was a total surprise for me to learn.

  Fun, creative, colorful and with a good heart, but I'm afraid there's still a lot of cogs to grease up in this machine.

  The humour is definitely the worst part about the film.
