oof this was heavy af to watch, esp w my parents esp w my mom who grew up in argentina around that time and whose mom is now v eunice in the last scenes, totally alzheimered. very compelling and real, great performances. the movie is a 5 for sure but only pleased me 3.5 i guess?

jumped on vic’s 85th viewing of this movie and once she sequestered my phone and forced me to focus i got into it

we need more older aunties being gay

grew up adoring Chris Rock so i really wanted to like this special but it came off as pretty tired, in a boomer repeating himself constantly kind of way, without delivering any laugh-out-loud funny moments — which, call me discerning, is what i want from stand-up.

i did feel bummed for him when he messed up his last concussion joke and wonder if netflix will keep their live thing going…. all in all, made me want to watch old chris rock stand-up and DEFINITELY made me want to rewatch Down to Earth.

alas, got big “kill your idols” energy from Selective Outrage 😩
