Wow. This blew my mind. The editing is so engaging even if arbitrary at times. Use of old footage (esp from the UN stuff) was expansive and thoughtful and just cool af. No one is saved by this movie. So happily surprised by how well done (from a black studies perspective and a simple movie viewing experience) this was. It’s super helpful in breaking down certain aspects of neoimperialism and nuances of the Cold War.

Omar Epps was so fine. Movie had enuf in it to write some long winded thing about race and unwellness and class but the TLDR is that Omar Epps was fine af.

Movie theaters r so weird. People laugh at weird shit. Movie fell off about halfway through even tho the first half alone couldn’t stand by itself. Some of the plot choices confused me. I ate all my popcorn b4 the movie started. I don’t think I was the movies target audience.
