Not a single frame of this movie was wasted. It was all, every shot, beautiful and moving and every scene and look was in service of the story but it didn't feel laborious but lovely. The acting was embodied and the story rings true to life. Nora's pain and regret in the end was the perfect way to end. The weakest part of the film for me was the acting of John Magora, playing the husband Arthur. Pretty close to a perfect movie.

Smartly told, complex narrative that respects viewers' intelligence. Not knowing anything about tennis was a bit of a disadvantage since the movie doesn't go out of it's way to explain rules, but the relationship tensions were always crystal clear. Zendaya's acting shines in some moments and falters in others, but that may be because I've been following her for years and have such a sense for who she is that I can't always see her as her character. I saw a lot of praise after this came out for Mike Faist but I felt Josh O'Conner lead with charisma, embodied acting, and complexity.

    Great movie, so much heart.

Continues to be mediocre because they cast ZERO MENA actors despite the freeman literally being Bedouins.
