Wild Combination: A Portrait of Arthur Russell 2008
Pretty standard doc for a very otherworldly subject, though I wouldn't prefer it any other way. Magnificent how the dreaming taking place belongs to no one but the land itself. The long pauses on empty space evoke this sense of latent hypnogogia. A rounded piece of art where involuntary memories all draw back to the unified field of landscape. The artifactual quality of the film enhances this sense of experiencing a perfectly contained, spherical object.
