  I was shipping Basel and Yuval throughout the film, thinking it'd be a pretty symbolic thing to peace between the Jews and Palestinians in the world that is still full of violence. ((sorry not sorry))

  Then, I read on wiki that Basel is married since 2024 and has a daughter, a happy thing since both Basel and Yuval questioned if they'd ever get married in one of the scenes in the docu, but it's still a sad thing that Masafer Yatta is no longer accessible to Basel and his family.

  Solaris 1972

  ★★★★★ Rewatched 09 Mar 2025

  This is my third time watching it and I happen to read Stanisław Lem's novel from which this movie is based on a few years ago. Despite all that, Solaris is the kind of movie that instilled in me the feeling of "the more I watch it, the more I realised that I don't understand anything". And there's so much that I don't understand about the universe and our existence.

  There are so much things conveyed in 13 minutes: parental abuse, lack of assistance from law enforcement agencies, neighbours who don’t pry into their next door neighbours’ business in the name of privacy (often with good intentions, yet causing bad consequences). And the most disturbing of all is a senior policeman exploiting their junior officers to do the difficult stuff. 🥲
