Oldukça sade ve etkileyici bir film. Malum konumuzun türlü türlü aile ortamında tartışıldığı takdirde ailelerimizin hemen politik spektrumda konumlarını alması, en temel ihtiyaçlarımızı, insanlığı ve birlikteliği ağızlarına alamadığı ve kavgalara sürüklendiği konu. Ah çocuklar çocuklar, Kablumbağalar da Uçar' ı izlediğimden beri çocukların ana aktörler olduğu filmlere ayrı bir gözle bakıyorum. Çok daha güçlü ve kapsayıcı hale geliyor düşündürmesi, felsefe yapması. Abilerinin siyasi görüşünü tanımlama ihtimali olan tek şeyin basit yeşil bir parka olması, ne kitapların ismini görmemiz, ne de ağzından politik bir cümle duymamamız, temelde faşizmin her türlü görüşü bastırma içgüdüsü ve amacını sadeleştirip seyirciye geçirme şekli harika.

Epicentro 2020
The movie has a special aspect, especially about the way the director approached to his main actors, the kids. Observing how they reflect to the political memory was quite inspiring. The whole methodology feels quite authentic and spontaneous. The discussion of cinema on the background, reveals bunch of new questions about what to capture to seek for reality and meaning.

Returning to Reims 2021
I watched it today in Documentarist 2024, a documentary festival in Istanbul and Periot joined for Q&A. He said "I realized that I am not good with camera at the very beginning of my journey and focused on archives". It was inspiring to see how he connects the personal level with a universal discourse, and telling the worldwide identity crisis of working class, suffering from abstractions of left politics.

It is remarkable to witness with such a process of artifacts, broadening this particular issue towards a more post-colonial discussion, revealing the ongoing colonial impacts within "liberated" Africa. The concrete focus on, yet proportionally, the young students having discussion about their struggle and preserving cultural heritage was quite valuable to observe, that was a moment I appreciated the camera to focus on them.
