Mufasa: The Lion King 2024
I expected to be disappointed by a purest mentality for nostalgia, but despite the disappointing opening song, I was pleasantly surprised. My only disappointments were Timon and Pumba. Their writing was juvenile and unnecessary. But, the character development of Scar and Mufasa made up for it.
Holistically, the score was the perfect mixture of homage to the original while maintaining its own identity. The subtle usage of original melodies woven into the score was the ideal amount. Amazing.
