After exchanging horror short stories and discussing movie references, a friend recommended this movie to me, saying it’d be right up my alley.
Oh my god??? This storyline honestly feels like something my middle or high school self would have written, but in a rougher, more unpolished way. I loved the slow build-up of Dawn’s character and world, right up to the breaking point. I was genuinely shocked when the guy she’d been pining after ended up assaulting her, but…
I'd like to preface that I still haven't seen the Wizard of Oz, but I have seen the Muppets Wizard of Oz.
So far, I'm really loving the storyline, I am even more intrigued to watch the part 2 movie, and THEN finally watch the Wizard of Oz. I think that will be an interesting approach to watching the entire story unveil in a chronological order.

I went into this blind, just knowing very little of this movie. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a black and white style kind of movie. It felt very much like an old timey classic, with a hint of sci-fi horror. It makes me wonder if this truly was one of the first few beginnings of this type of trope.
