For the first two-thirds of Mickey 17, Bong Joon Ho had me completely invested. The film thrives on its sharp humor, compelling world-building, and another standout performance from Robert Pattinson, who continues to prove he can do just about anything. The Pattinson Renaissance is in full force, and I’m on board. While he claims it wasn’t intentional, Mark Ruffalo delivers an unexpectedly hilarious (and eerily accurate) Donald Trump impression—sorry, Sebastian Stan.

    The film’s high-concept premise—centering on an expendable clone who…

    ★★★½

Bong Joon Ho has a masterful way of embedding profound societal critique within gripping narratives, and Snowpiercer is no exception. A visually striking, claustrophobic thrill ride, the film delivers a high-concept dystopian premise that serves as a brutal, unrelenting allegory for class struggle. The train—humanity’s last refuge after a failed climate experiment—functions as a rigid caste system, where the privileged few indulge in excess while the lower class is pacified with bare-minimum resources and violent suppression.

Ordinary meets extraordinary in Guy Ritchie’s Snatch. Possibly the single greatest juxtaposition in film. An absurd amount of stories to follow and so many with twists and turns that have you slightly confused at first but you mostly just end up laughing hysterically

Thank you, world, for Jonathan Majors. While Jordan portrays his title character in such a spectacular way as always, the spotlight shines on both the protagonist and the antagonist in such a great parallel of stories. Some minor things felt like they were missing with the side characters that could’ve been further fleshed out but overall the film sticks to an intriguing story between two soured long lost friends.

The theatrics made for an entertaining and captivating on-screen production. The…

    Nosferatu

    ★★★★½

Eggers’ best. Nosferatu is a haunting tale with gripping tension throughout. The sound, cinematography, color grading, and camerawork are some of the best I’ve ever seen.

In true Eggers’ fashion, the film’s sound design amplifies its eerie atmosphere, using silence as effectively as its more jarring moments—whether it’s the creaking of floorboards in an empty corridor or the distant, ghostly whispers that seem to emanate from the darkness itself.

The cinematography is rich with stark contrasts, framing Nosferatu in ways…
