This movie had all the makings of an intriguing psychological thriller, but it honestly feels like it sabotaged itself throughout. There were so many hints and information on past events during the early stages of the movie that it made the pivotal moments feel incredibly predictable. I can’t help but wonder what the film could’ve been had it focused more on the psyche of the main character rather than the logistical concerns that he had when he can’t find his…

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Just an undeniable 5 star movie. It’s so badass to think about how much pressure from the fanbase was on this movie to get everything right, and they absolutely crushed it. We get the culmination of everything the prior 7 movies and 6 books have built toward.

We get the race for the final Horcruxes, multiple battles between Harry and Dumbledore, countless heroic and inspirational plays from the entire Order of the Phoenix and the professors at Hogwarts, and finally…

The U is probably my favorite 30-for-30 of all time. Chronicling the Miami dynasty of the late 80s and early 90s, the film does a great job showing just how good the players were, but also how much football meant to them. Football gave them a release from bad, often violent upbringings and gave the players a chance to succeed and be proud of something. The film also did a phenomenal job displaying the edge that Miami notoriously played with.…

Having been disappointed by a lot of the more recent high-budget war films, I wasn’t expecting to be blown away by 1917, but boy was I. The battlefield sets and the visuals throughout the entirety of the film were mesmerizing. There’s enough sincerity and heartfelt moments to make audiences care about the characters they’re watching, something that has become awfully rare in war films. While I was expecting more action, there is enough suspense and exciting sequences to make the movie fly bye. The tremendous amount of grit that is displayed by the two main characters just adds to the outstanding nature of the film.
