  This one got me. I think there’s an argument to be made that some of the strongest science fiction films have the least amount of science fiction in them. The movie Contact comes to mind, where the science fiction component of the story is merely used as a vehicle to connect to deep truths about the human condition. Maherahala Ali is in top form. Also thank goodness they didn’t botch the score or soundtrack. The music amplifies the work of this cast and screenplay.
