Poor Things 2023
Startegic cappuccino and croissant morning screening w Matis. The story was fresh, the characters bookish but complex. Was afraid they would be caricature of themselves, but no. Some themes were a bit rushed, but I guess it matches the rythm of the novel. Much faster than his older movies. I would not go so far as to call it groundbreaking and weird, but I love me the eccentricities. Depicts the awakening through sexual empowerment without becoming morose, which I was afraid.
