The Apprentice 2024
Wasn’t really trying to expose myself to more of this character but I found this watch important and interesting.
About the film itself: absolutely love the performances and the entire swing with format, tone, and look. Gives such a rich feeling. Story was full and intriguing, lost a little magic when it had to cope with both its voice and the converging “who he became” storyline that is developing in real time.

Appreciated more on the second go-round. That said, a lot of indulgence makes this run about 30min long for me.
Can we talk more about Michael Giacchino’s score on this? We remember the grunge reprise, but the foreboding strings and flourishes really kick in the Atmos mix. Reference quality disc in all regards.

Mashing up rom-com and horror with ease is no small feat. I love the deft combo of grounded and character-driven performances, the cast is really standout. And the kills. Those amazing setups of “is this a joke or is this a scare?!”…the only answer given is “yes”.
