It’s still flowing through my mind, that smooth sublime shot of the cinema exterior, which ascended from the bottom of the brick wall, past the guys and dolls musical poster, to the fluorescent lights flashing in heavenly harmony with the unusually classical soundtrack. It is a really musical film, but sticking to the 1940s-50s period, and capturing the zeitgeist (I was totes there) down to the dust on the oaken mantelpiece.

Good writing I guess, but they kinda copied ‘despicable me’ with the character design (Richard of Gloucester = medieval gru). However, his hair was more reminiscent of a 60s girl group. Anyway, it was good villainous, bloody fun for the most part and I liked the horses.

It was excruciating to sit through. I felt like tearing my eyeballs out during some of the scenes, which were intentionally long and repetitive, silent and stifled, but it kept my attention somehow and boy am I glad I made it to the end.
My jaw physically dropped in the last scene and I was curled up on the sofa, clutching my knees and feeling my racing pulse.

An aesthetically stunning film - animated stop motion- which captivated me all the way through a flight.
