    Most mainstream directors aim to leave the audience with a high at the end. Mari Selvaraj prefers to leave us with mixed feelings. He says that a movie can’t solve everything but at least it can make us ask questions.

    The “is it worth it?” question about JOJI is very easy to answer, because it has all these great performances by Fahadh Faasil, by Unnimaya Prasad, by everybody else, and if especially you know Macbeth, the contrasts are wonderful to see. But as a standalone film I missed the Fahadh Faasil-Dileesh Pothan combination that gave us Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum and Maheshinte Prathikaaram.
