This is a decent sequel. It didn’t move me the way the original one does (which is to say, to tears).
The music is…fine. The story is…ok.
    I enjoyed it.

What a delight for the eyes: Such sumptuous costuming and cinematography! Ralph Fiennes is incredible, as always. And I loved seeing The Tucch. The pacing is good. I really enjoyed the script; however, while I did not anticipate the ending, I felt the plot points prior to that were pretty easy to see coming. But that’s a small criticism for how much I enjoyed this film!

    *sigh*
The trailer hinted at themes of hope and democracy and unity. Its earnestness made me think there might be something for me in this film.
The fact that Coppola - director of The Godfather - had finally put this lifelong vision on the big screen made me think it would be worth seeing.
    I. Was. Wrong.
At least now I know the bottom of my movie list.
This was the most non-sensical, immature handling of (what could have been)…

Where was all the promo for this gem? I’m so happy that word-of-mouth made its existence known to me. Watched this with adults and teens and we all LOVED it!
A tight script*, an interesting story, well-developed characters, evocative animation and a vital, timely message make this a GREAT movie!

Scripts don’t need to be tight, in my book. But when the writer(s) tell a dynamic, flowing story that moves logically and with momentum, that economy of words and action is appreciated.
