  edit: i wanted to add that i avoided all promotion for this except the announcement teaser and bitch, i ate that, everything felt unpredictable and fun. Gotta start avoiding trailers more often. 

  A little too much like Freaky with it’s quippy tone, I don’t really like slasher comedies i’m finding out. I prefer a more serious and authentic tone I guess. I don’t mind a little bit of camp but for me this was more successful with it’s romance counterpart…

  This slasher took skill imo and the bad ratings are baffling to me, “generic” “scream rip off” just say you dont like slasher movies. U have me thinking this movie is bad when shit like There’s Someone Inside Your House exists. Like seriously how is complaining about a who-dun-it valid when it’s not like the killer reveal is guaranteed to be the same as Scream’s. Good pacing, good kills, good chases, good acting, good motive and theme, I liked diet Emma Watson as a final girl also.

  Not going to be as revolutionary as Pulse, and definitely not as taboo as It Follows, but just as scary as both!

  
  This is a SLOW burn psychological drama horror with a very quiet and dreadful atmosphere. It doesnt quite have a unique visual flare to it which is why the first trailer of Smile made it look so generic. But when it ended the guy next to me said “this made Truth or Dare look like a pile of shit.”…
