The ending ruined a well shot and delivered story. The story starts as a decent socio-political story about the struggles of the elderly and women in Iran. Halfway through it turns to a hopeful story about an elderly person finally finding love, but then they give the poor old man a heart attack and kill him. What was even the point of that? Beyond seeking to make the audience sad and miserable? What was the thematic point? I’m not opposed to bitter endings or sad films, but this ending seemed like cruelty for cruelties sake.
