  Watched this as the first in a series of films I’m exploring while reading Cinema Speculation. 

  The car chase scene lives up to the hype.

  Has San Francisco ever been captured this great in a movie? 

  Trustman improved as a writer after The Thomas Crown Affair (supposedly wrote this one in 20 hours). Either that, or collaborating with Harry Kleiner kept him in check.

  I wonder if Michael Mann drew inspiration from this for the final scene of Heat.

  Felt compelled to write something for this one, after having had a couple of drinks. 

  I thought I was in for something special with the immensely cool title sequence. It was so captivating that I rewound to watch it again, and I replayed it on YouTube while digesting the movie.

  This is also my first Steve McQueen movie, which I think plays into why I am giving this such a low score after my first watch. I became vastly more…
