  A Rainy Day in New York 2019

  Not unwatchable, and the kind of movie I like, but I found myself constantly thinking "that's a weird choice edit wise" and being taken out of the film due to technicalities, though interesting, of the film making. Timmys woodie impression at times demanded another take. Both female characters the more interesting performances.

  Started so strongly, only to fall back on callbacks and rehashes of all other alien movies. A stunningly beautiful film that nailed the look of film. Hard not to feel studio notes led to the pretty bad second half. The synth performance of David Johnson was fantastic.

  Shouldn't have waited this long to watch. Take away the obvious 2001 Kubrick comparisons and it's a very enjoyable, and lovely looking 80'sci-fi that has a slower pace that we rarely get these days.

  Watched on netflix in two goes, one in Cavan, and second half in Dublin. Some decent performances, felt to me like an idea for a short that got stretched.
